Marathon Tournament Mode

In this mode, user can participate in different marathon tournaments and other sports events organised by the WalkN community. These events will be conducted on weekly and monthly basis. To participate in the tournaments, users must register at least 24 hours in advance in Tournaments tap. There will be a tiny tournament registration fee, which will be reimbursed when successfully completing the Tournament.

Type of Marathon Tournaments

As the word already implies, a Weekly Tournaments runs for a full week. A player is only allowed to join one Weekly tournament a time. With the Weekly Tournaments the player is able to choose from the following distances: 2.5km, 5km and 7.5km. The selection of distances might be changed over time depending on the preference of the WalkN App community.

Besides the Weekly Tournaments, the WalkN App will also host Monthly Tournaments, which again as the name already implies run for a full month. Just like the Weekly Tournaments, players are also able to only join one Monthly Tournaments at a time. With the Monthly Tournament players will be able to choose from the following distances: 5km, 10km and 15km. Again the selection of distances might be changed over time depending on the preference of the WalkN App community.

In the Challenge Log only users who have successfully enrolled will receive a confirmation message. The Set a Target feature of the WalkN app allows users to keep track of their progress over time. The marathon will be marked as completed once the targeted distance has been completed. At this stage, users will be alerted via the Challenge Log. Please note that users can’t repair or clean their sneakers during the marathon.

Registration Fee

To ensure commitment of participants, a tiny registration fee will be charged in $WALKN tokens at the time of registration. The registration fee is refunded once the marathon is completed. Any participant failing to complete the marathon in the specified time will have their fees sent to a common pool which would be used for Leaderboard rewards.

Leaderboard

This is to rank participants based on their points. The points are calculated based on users’ running speed and attributes of the sneakers used.
